First of all, I would really like to apologize for not replying to the recent favs and comments! Thank you everyone for your kindness, I really appreciate them!
I've returned to dA following a short (was it short) period of inactivity and I really hope I'll be out taking new photos soon! More to come!

I saw today the results from WorldWar-Tori's Winter Contest news.deviantart.com/article/10… , which was the first contest in which I ever participated.

Happily enough, A Long Cold Lonely Winter thebigidearo.deviantart.com/ar… achieved a honorable mention, which I think is a good result. Thank you all for the support!


Funny thing is, this deviation was rejected without comments by a romanian deviants group (that I will not name here). I did see the dumbness from that decision, yet I decided not to complain until today. Maybe they'll understand that there's nothing wrong in promoting new photographers that are still learning, should the picture(s) be good. While I can understand that accepting/rejecting deviations is mainly a subjective decision, I think users should get their pictures posted based only on the quality of the photograph, not on other criteria.

I'm soon to finish my mini-collection of pictures of the metal sculptures from Galati. I'm quite happy with the outcome, for now, although there are still some left. Those are quite nice monuments that have almost no exposure here on dA.

I'm really impressed of the way the implementation of groups has changed the dA community. It is probably the best improvement to the site in around 6 years or so, since I've been around, one way or another. It's a great step forward for those that weren't getting too much community exposure in the past, as they can join many groups, share opinions and find others with quite the same (photographic) interests. It's been great for me too, since my shots became more and more appreciated. I've received many favs, many kind comments and some good ad-hoc critiques that will surely enable me to do better pictures.
Therefore, I would really like to take a moment and thank all my old and new watchers, friends and even occasional passers by! I'm still a beginner and photography is still a hobby (and it will stay so, for now), yet the support that some pictures got, comparing to the previous period, really make me want to take better pictures.

P.S. The cat seems to share my excitement - she climbs around and watches her own pictures on the monitor

Just a quick note to wish a very merry Christmas to all my watchers and occasional viewers! I really hope you're having a great time and enjoying life to the full.
I'll be off for a 5 days mountain trip so don't expect deviations from my side for a while. I hope I'll be back with some new, better shots to share with you.
